JOSH Auty raced to a third place finish in the Australian Under-21 Championship in Mildura yesterday.

The Tigers star scored 10 points from his five qualifying rides and then won the ‘B Final’ to earn himself a shot at the big prize in the Grand Final against Darcy Ward, Justin Sedgmen and Sam Masters.

Ward led all the way ahead of Sedgemen in the winner-takes-all shoot-out, but Auty held on for the bronze medal position.

Sheffield’s other representative, Hugh Skidmore, was eliminated in the ‘B Final’ after scoring 7 points in his qualifying rides.
