KELLY Moran, one of Sheffield Speedway's greatest ever riders, has died after a battle with illness.
The Californian showman was a huge favourite with the Owlerton club during the three seasons between 1986-88 and scored over 1,000 points. He was the brother of the equally popular Tigers ace Shawn.
Kelly was 49 and was one of the most spectacular riders ever seen on a Speedway machine. His breathtaking style made fans want to travel a long distance to see him.
Sheffield Speedway would like to place on record our deepest sympathy to Kelly's family - and thanks for the wonderful memories, 'Jelly Man'.
