TIGERS V SCUNTHORPE - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday April 07, 2010
SHEFFIELD Tigers stage their opening home Premier Trophy fixture of the season against Scunthorpe on Thursday night (7.45).

It’s the third attempt the club have had at launching their competitive campaign thanks to the woeful weather at the start of the campaign.

And boss Eric Boocock insists his side are ready to roar into action as they aim to build on last Friday’s wonderful win at Redcar.

He said: “That was a great win for us and we just can’t wait to get back into action in front of our own supporters.

“It’s been a frustrating start to the season because of a lack of home action. We did well in the War of the Roses clash against Belle Vue but we haven’t raced a home meeting since then! Bring it on.”

The club are keen to remind supporters that the Panorama Room Restaurant, with the best view of the track and excellent value food, is open for the meeting and all children will be admitted FREE OF CHARGE!

The draw will also be made on the centregreen for next month’s British Semi-Final which includes Elite League stars Scott Nicholls and Tai Woffinden and Sheffield’s own Ricky Ashworth, Josh Auty and Richard Hall – as well as former Sheffield skipper Andre Compton.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Josh Auty, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Josef Franc, Paul Cooper, Arlo Bugeja.

SCUNTHORPE: David Howe, Magnus Karlsson, Carl Wilkinson, Joel Parsons, Viktor Bergstrom, Simon Lambert, Jerran Hart.
