EASTER TREAT FOR TIGERS FANS

Wednesday April 04, 2007
SHEFFIELD Tigers are preparing for a feast of speedway racing over the Easter weekend - starting on Thursday at Owlerton.

Birmingham Brummies, the sport's newest club, visit Owlerton for the first time in 25-years in Premier Trophy action after the successful relaunch of the sport at Perry Barr.

And that means a quick return for ex-Tiger Emiliano Sanchez who moved to the second city in a loan deal during the winter.

Tigers skipper Andre Compton will return to the side just eight days after suffering pelvic injuries in the defeat at King's Lynn.

The action continues with the return at Birmingham on Friday and then a mouthwatering Owlerton clash with King's Lynn on Monday at 6pm.

Fans can enjoy a three-course meal for just £12 in the Panorama Room Restaurant at that meeting and, at the same time, watch the Elite League clash between Wolves and Belle Vue on the screens throughout the stadium.

Tigers owner Neil Machin said: "It really is a terrific weekend for the fans to look forward to and we're delighted to have our captain back from injury.

"The return of Birmingham is a big bonus for the sport and we're looking forward to facing them. We want revenge against King's Lynn on Monday as well!"

As always, children under the age of 12 will be admitted free for the Owlerton meetings.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Joel Parsons, Andre Compton, James Cockle, Ben Wilson, Paul Cooper, James Birkinshaw.
BIRMINGHAM: Ulrich Ostergaard, Aidan Collins, Jason Lyons, Emiliano Sanchez, Brent Werner, Lee Smart, Ben Powell.
