NO SERIOUS DAMAGE FOR RICKY

SHEFFIELD racer Ricky Ashworth has revealed there is no serious damage to his wrist in the aftermath of his track crash in last night's Premier Trophy meeting at Birmingham.

Ashworth was ruled out of the 59-36 defeat after his opening outing with bad swelling of the wrist - and he will now leave it as long as possible before declaring whether he can race against Birmingham at Owlerton this Thursday.

“To look at the bike you would have though I was hurt as well but thankfully I wasn’t,” said Ashworth.

“I had some bad swelling and that worried me, it’s a case of taking it on a daily basis with injuries like that. They have told me there is some ligament damage which won’t be right overnight so I just have to manage it properly.”
