TIGERS V BIRMINGHAM - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday June 02, 2010
DANISH dynamite Peter Kildemand will race for Sheffield Tigers in their revenge mission against Birmingham at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45).

Kildemand will replace Josef Franc who is still recovering from a shoulder injury and is sure to provide plenty of entertainment.

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side will also have Ricky Ashworth available after he declared himself ready to race following his wrist injury at the weekend.

Birmingham have been too good for Sheffield in both the Premier Trophy and Knockout Cup so far this season - but Tigers are a different team now after a stunning run of form.

Ashworth said: "We need the support of the fans. I can understand why some became a bit disillusioned because we were struggling as a team but we put that right with an amazing run of form last week including two away wins and the entertainment in our last two home meetings has been superb.

"If the fans are behind us and making plenty of noise then it gives the lads a boost, it should be a good meeting."

Ashworth pulled out of Belle Vue's Elite League trip to Poole on Wednesday to give himself the best possible chance to be fit for Thursday.

And Rusty Harrison has been called in as a guest for Birmingham's injured reserve Chris Kerr.

SHEFFIELD: Peter Kildemand, Hugh Skidmore, Josh Auty, Richard Hall, Ricky Ashworth, Paul Cooper, Aerlo Bugeja.

BIRMINGHAM: Jason Lyons, Aaron Summers, Justin Sedgmen, Richard Sweetman, Steve Johnston, Rusty Harrison, Kyle Newman.
