HOGGART HAILS TIGERS HEROES

Friday June 04, 2010
SHEFFIELD co-promoter David Hoggart hailed teenage star Josh Auty who put on another stunning display of overtaking in the Tigers' thrilling win over Birmingham.

Auty came from the back to win each of his first four rides and then took a match-clinching 4-2 with Ricky Ashworth in Heat 15 after Brummies skipper Jason Lyons had broken down on the last lap when in front.

Hoggart said: "Josh continued what he's been doing over the last few weeks, which is producing some of the most spectacular passing we've seen for a long time. He is giving everyone great entertainment.

"I've also got to give credit to Ricky who put in a top performance despite his recent injuries, and our guest Peter Kildemand scored five but was worth double that. We'd like to thank him for his efforts.

"Without sounding unkind it was hard to have too much sympathy for Jason in Heat 15 after some of the luck we've had, and in the end it was probably tit-for-tat for Hugh (Skidmore) in Heat 1. But it certainly made for a dramatic finish and we were just delighted to beat them at long last.

"Nobody in the pits had ever seen an engine disintegrate like Hugh's did in the first race. It was quite literally split in two!"
