SHEFFIELD Tigers are digging deep to support seriously injured colleagues.
Tigers have agreed to donate a point of their earnings from Thursday's Premier League clash with Workington at Owlerton to the cause inspired by legendary four-times World Champion Barry Briggs.
'Briggo' is currently on a motorbike ride throughout the UK and visiting tracks to raise money for the group of riders who are now wheelchair-bound.
Riders are paid per point and Sheffield are one of the first clubs to pledge their support to Briggo in this way.
Supporters can also join in by supporting a collection at the stadium on Thursday.
Club owner Neil Machin said: "We are pleased to support Briggo's cause and all our riders are only too happy to lend their backing.
"Speedway is a dangerous sport and this is a nice way to support those who have paid a heavy price for entertaining the fans." Machin has also confirmed Czech Republic star Josef Franc is fit to return to the side for Thursday.
