BIRMINGHAM V TIGERS - PREVIEW

Tuesday July 13, 2010
SHEFFIELD get back down to Premier League business when they travel to Birmingham on Wednesday (7.30).

And they're looking to bounce back from the disappointment of the home defeat at the hands of Newcastle almost a week ago.

Ricky Ashworth, one half of the jubilant Sheffield Premier League Pairs winners, is determined to use the positive feeling created by their win at Somerset the following night for this meeting at Perry Barr.

He said: "We were bitterly disappointed to lose at home to Newcastle last week but then Josh (Auty) and me went and won the Pairs against Birmingham in the final so hopefully we can carry that going forward."

Birmingham are expected to welcome back American ace Chris Kerr at reserve after two months out with a broken leg.

The Brummies are into the Premier Trophy Final and only last week qualified for the Knockout Cup semi-final.

Sheffield are back at Owlerton Stadium on Thursday when they face Scunthorpe in more Premier League action with Ashworth and Auty assured of a cedlebration welcome home from fans.

BIRMINGHAM: Jason Lyons, Aaron Summers R/R, Justin Sedgmen, Richard Sweetman, Steve Johnston, Kyle Newman, Chris Kerr.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Josef Franc, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Simon Lambert, Paul Cooper.
