BIRMINGHAM V TIGERS - PREVIEW

Tuesday August 10, 2010
SHEFFIELD'S hectic schedule continues when they face two Premier League heavyweights in the space of two days this week.

The Owlerton side head to Birmingham on Wednesday before facing title favourites Edinburgh in a tasty home meeting on Thursday.

Tigers are looking to build on their impressive run of form with five straight wins going into the mid-week trip to Perry Barr.

Sheffield owner Neil Machin said: "It's a big meeting at Birmingham for us and hopefully we can come away with a result before facing Edinburgh at Owlerton. That will also be a massive test after they won at Newcastle on Sunday."

Sheffield will have Dakota North at reserve in place of injured skipper Paul Cooper, who is back home in York recovering from the neck injury he sustained last week.

Birmingham continue with Danish rider Klaus Jakobsen in place of the injured Chris Kerr at reserve, but Aaron Summers is back after suffering a broken collarbone over a month ago.

BIRMINGHAM: Jason Lyons, Justin Sedgmen, Aaron Summers, Steve Johnston, Richard Sweetman, Kyle Newman, Klaus Jakobsen.

SHEFFIELD: Josh Auty, Hugh Skidmore, Josef Franc, Richard Hall, Ricky Ashworth, Simon Lambert, Dakota North.
