SHEFFIELD Tigers have booked Workington rider Richard Lawson to deputise for injured reserve Paul Cooper in Saturday's trip to Berwick (7pm).

And it means an emotional return to Shielfield Park for former Bandits favourite Josef Franc who is in his first season as a Sheffield rider.

Sheffield chief Neil Machin said: "We have had some good results at Berwick down the years and after losing twice in the week we need to bounce back. We'll be looking to Franc to use his knowledge of the track and score well.

"Richard is a good choice of guest because he is at reserve but is capable of much more than that."
