STAR NAMES LINE UP FOR NORTHERN TITLE

Tuesday September 07, 2010
SHEFFIELD Speedway have pulled in some of the biggest names in Premier League racing for their Northern Riders' Championship individual event at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45).

Former Elite League champion Oliver Allen, recently signed by King's Lynn, will be in action along with Scunthorpe's David Howe, an ex-Great Britain international.

Somerset's hot Australian duo Shane Parker and Sam Masters are also included along with Ryan Fisher from newly crowned Premier League champions Edinburgh and Newcastle's in-form Mark Lemon.

Sheffield are also waiting for a fitness update on Glasgow's Chesterfield-born former Bradford rider Joe Screen who has been invited.

Tigers co-promoter David Hoggart said: "The fact that we have been able to pull in this line-up so soon after the original staging of the meeting was rained off just underlines how much the riders love Owlerton.

"Our own riders, particularly the top guys, will have a real tough test against this standard of opposition and it should be a fantastic night of racing."
