PREVIEW: TIGERS v PETERBOROUGH

Wednesday May 19, 2021
SHEFFIELD are looking to build on their encouraging start to the season when they face Peterborough at Owlerton on Thursday (7.30).

After slipping to a narrow four-point defeat at Belle Vue on Monday Simon Stead’s men are looking for a winning start on home shale.

It’s the first meeting at Owlerton in 20-months and a full attendance is expected within the restricted capacity.

Adam Ellis will make his belated Tru Plant Tigers debut after missing out on Monday’s meeting as he was on the isolation list in Poland.

Boss Simon Stead said: “It’s nice to have a home meeting to look forward to and we’re keen to get going in front of our own fans.

“I thought we made a solid start on Monday but we need to get a win on the board and hopefully that will be the case against Peterborough.

“But we have to show them great respect because they have a very experienced team and they know how to get around our track.

“We’ll havwe to be on our toes but it would be nice to think we can get three points on the board to add to the consolation point we got on Monday at Belle Vue.

“It’s going to be a special moment to see the fans back at Owlerton and I personally cannot wait.”
