COOK LOOKS AHEAD TO WOLVES CLASH

Tuesday June 07, 2022
CRAIG Cook is looking forward to getting back in front of the Sheffield supporters on Thursday night (June 9, 7.30).

The Tru Plant Tigers take on Wolverhampton in what promises to be another enthralling top-flight clash.

Last time out at Owlerton, the 2017 British Champion achieved his personal best for Sheffield, scoring 9+3 in their biggest win of the season so far against Belle Vue.

And with the club’s only home defeat this year coming in the League Cup against Wolverhampton last month, Cook is expecting a different outcome this time around.

“Wolves may have got the better of us last time but that’s been and gone now,” he said.

“Last time they came to us, a few of us had some issues.

“Me, Tobi (Musielak) and Adam (Ellis) all scored five points each which is way below what we’d expect.

“So when you’ve got three of us like that having an off night it’s not ideal and it’s always going to be tough for the team.

“But as I said, that was just one of those nights, it’s all forgotten about now, we look forward, we move forward and we just need to get back winning.”

Sheffield will be at full strength for the clash with Wolverhampton including former Australian Champion Sam Masters, former American Champion Luke Becker and triple British Under-19 Champion Drew Kemp.

Meanwhile the club are asking for volunteers to stay behind for a short time after Thursday's meeting to help take down the air fence.
