SHEFFIELD sailed through to their first ever top-flight Grand Final with a demolition job over Wolverhampton.
The Tru Plant Tigers picked up their biggest win of the season, coasting to a 61-29 triumph over the West Midlands side.
It secured a stunning 108-72 aggregate success with the atmosphere around Owlerton Stadium buzzing.
Already leading by four points from Monday’s first leg in the Black Country, three heat advantages in the opening four races well and truly set the Tigers on their way.
And with Simon Stead’s men striking four 5-1s between Heats Six and Ten, Sheffield eased through to the Premiership Grand Final.
Boss Stead said: “I’m just ever so proud.
“The lads have been absolutely phenomenal - they’ve been great to work with all season but they have really stepped it up in recent weeks.
“When you look down the scorecard and look at what they’re all doing, they’re all doing their bit.
“They’re all hungry for it and they deserve their place in the Grand Final.
“I can’t fault their determination, their effort and their commitment - it’s been absolutely second to none.
“This is a great way to build up to the Play-Off Final, but nothing’s a given and there’s still a lot of hard work to be done.”
Sheffield only suffered two last places all night long, winning 12 of the 15 heats.
It now sets up a truly mouthwatering War of the Roses Grand Final against Belle Vue.
The Tru Plant Tigers head to the National Speedway Stadium on Monday (October 10, 7.30) with the deciding leg at Owlerton next Thursday (October 13, 7.30).
