KYLE IN EARLY RETURN

Wednesday January 31, 2007
KYLE Legault will make an early return to Owlerton this season after moving to Premier League rivals Mildenhall on loan, reports sheffieldtoday.net

The popular Canadian was forced out of the Tigers team plans because his average didn't fit into the points limit used by clubs for team building purposes.

He was quickly fixed up with the Fen Tigers where he will line up alongside Czech Republic showman Mario Jirout in an exciting side.

Sheffield will go to West Row in the first leg of a spring challenge tie on Sunday March 18 - and the return leg has now been confirmed for Thursday March 22.

The opening night of the season at Owlerton will be March 15, but the format of the event has yet to be decided after negotiations with an Elite League club broke down on financial grounds.

Tigers owner Neil Machin said: "It was a very hard decision for us to make in leaving Kyle out of the team this year, but he's a very mature young man and fully understands how the sport works.

"I can say here and now that Kyle would have been in the team had the points limit been a fraction higher, he would have been one of the first names on the teamsheet.

"I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him in Sheffield colours and we're looking forward to meeting up with him so early in the season. I'm sure he'll score well on March 22 - and I don't mind that as long as we win the match!"
