GRAND Prix stars will make a rare appearance at Owlerton Stadium this summer - in the Elite League Riders' Championship.
World champion Jason Crump spearheads a line-up which includes six of the top seven riders in the world on Thursday August 30.
The move to bring the event to South Yorkshire will be popular with fans and riders alike as Owlerton is regarded as one of the best and fastest tracks in the sport.
Sheffield owner Neil Machin said: "This is a massive honour for the club and because we are a neutral track all the world superstars will thrive on it.
"It's a massive honour for Sheffield Speedway and the city in general to have one of the biggest meetings of the year at Owlerton.
"The line-up would grace any Grand Prix and I feel sure it will be a very spectacuar event."
The ELRC is one of seven major events in British Speedway next season wuich have been rebranded as the 'Super7even'.
Organisers are pleased to confirm the events have the full support of the SRA - Speedway Riders' Association - which ensures greater co-operation from the riders.
